Wembley Stadium came alive last month – not on this occasion because of a major football match but thanks to over 220 AV professionals from the corporate, education and public sector markets who attended Reflex’s best ever Technology Day.
It was clear from the buzz throughout the day that these are exciting times for AV. The way people work, learn and communicate is evolving more rapidly than ever before and TD15 reflected this. Agile workspaces, embracing acoustics, AV, IT, interactivity and content creation was a hot topic of discussion and the subjects of two of the most popular seminar sessions were hosted by Vodafone and Microsoft, with over 70 attendees in each. The seminar and training programme on the day is highly valued, with subjects as broad as the technical issues around PISCR (Projected Image Systems Contrast Ratio), audio DSP configuration and distribution over IP and how to bring your content to life.
Another great benefit of the Technology Days is the ability of visitors to meet and directly question the manufacturers, and to compare cutting edge technologies side by side. This year’s highlights included products as diverse as the BuzziSpace Skin – a clever yet simple way to transform office walls and improve acoustics and the dnp LaserPanel, a highlight cost effective 100” flat screen based on optical screen technology. Delegates also appreciated the chance to do some networking – as one visitor highlighted “We found great value from attending and especially cementing old and existing contacts”.
Summing up the day, MD Roland Dreesden said “Our research on visitor interests reveals key information about the way the AV market is moving. Workflow, learning spaces, integrated communications, these are the challenges our customers face in their workplaces. It’s our job to develop solutions that meet these challenges head on. TD15 is a great tool for not only demonstrating to customers how these solutions can be created but helping to educate users on the implementation and practical use of them.”
