In January 2018 Reflex took over the lease on Unit 4 Bennet Court, a 4,500 square foot facility principally for pre-testing of equipment racks and lecterns prior to delivery to site.
This flexible area is equipped with installed audio systems and a variety of screens for testing purposes, together with network and test sources.
For client witness testing, systems are usually connected in a temporary manner using the actual equipment to be installed on site if alternative equivalents are not available. Testing is conducted by Reflex staff prior to the systems being offered to the client.
Reflex Limited has announced the appointment of Andy Read as Sales and Marketing Director, returning to a role he originally held over 20 years ago.
Read has enjoyed a long career in AV, one that started at Reflex in 1985 when he joined the company as a graduate engineer, progressing to Sales and Marketing Director by 1993.
His subsequent career includes launching the Plasma Screen Company in 1997, senior roles at CRT, Just Lamps and Diamond Lamps, and latterly Stampede. He also set up an AV marketing consultant for a short while.
So why the move back to Reflex now? Read explains “The solution sales side of the AV business is one that I enjoy and have always wanted to get back into. Having followed the fortunes and success of Reflex over recent years, I’ve seen what an excellent reputation they hold within the system integration sector. When this opportunity came up, I wasn’t about to pass it up! I’m impressed by the way the company operates and with the future vision and plans that William Jepps and the company management team have set out. It’s exciting to be a part of that.”
William Jepps, Reflex’s MD commented “It’s great to have Andy re-joining the board of directors together with Crispin Piney, Mike Atkinson, Andy Brymer and myself. He will bring a fresh pair of eyes to the business, coupled with his many years of experience gained within different businesses in the AV channel. With Crispin now fully devoted to his role as Business Development Director, I’m confident he can help to fulfil and accelerate the company’s growth plans.”
Reflex are delighted to announce that we have joined the MB Partners Official Partner Programme.
Launched in November 2015, the MBP Partner Programme enables official partners to cross-market preferred services and product suppliers across the relationships held within the group. The exclusive networking opportunities that come with being an official partner have proved to be hugely beneficial for our partners in terms of generating new business opportunities and exposing their company to a wealth of new contacts.
MB Partners is a boutique sports management agency and a class leader in Europe in the motorsport sector, offering a bespoke service to their clients.
On the face of it, AV and sport may not seem like natural partners. But Reflex sees some real synergies between the world of sport and the fast paced, ever-changing AV market, where success depends on being more focused than the rest of the field and just that little bit more nimble! Reflex joins the partner group with a willingness to share their wealth of expertise in the specialist field of AV, a proficiency that is relevant to every type of organisation if they have a meeting space, classroom, boardroom or technology connected workspace.
Crispin Piney, Reflex’s Sales Director said “We are privileged to have been accepted into the MB Partners Official Partner Programme. I’ve known and respected Mark for many years and welcome the opportunity to share our information and expertise with other members of the programme and of course, to learn from our fellow partners.”
MB Partners’ CEO, Mark Blundell, feels that Reflex Limited represent an excellent addition to a programme which has gone from strength to strength in its first year.
“This November marks the first anniversary of our Partner Programme and we are delighted with how it has developed. Bringing Reflex on board will provide yet another boost to our partner network. There is rapid growth in the AV market meaning Reflex’s services will be of great use to our fellow MBP Partners.”
Audio visual integrator Reflex Limited continues the development of its senior management team with the appointment of Crispin Piney as Business Development Director.
Piney has two decades of AV experience, and brings to Reflex the experience of working with an impressive list of blue chip employers including end user facing roles at Sony, Crestron and integrator Smartcomm.
With a strong sales background, he will be developing strategies to build upon Reflex’s £15m business, creating new business and strengthening further the strong relationships that the company has built with existing corporate and higher education business. He also plans a renewed focus on end user and AV consultant activities.
Through these plans he is seeking an ambitious year on year growth for Reflex over the coming 5 years.
“It is testament to Roland Dreesden, the current board and the existing sales team that the business has such incredible stability and consequently, a solid basis with which to enter a new and exciting phase” comments Piney. “I look forward to working with the Sales team to create a structure that allows Reflex to target new markets and develop innovative strategies to support our existing customers.”
William Jepps commented “Crispin’s appointment is absolutely key to the growth plans we have for Reflex. The role of Business Development Director is a new one for us, and Crispin is ideally placed to take on the challenge and push forward with his own ideas and strategies.”
Well over 200 audio visual professionals from corporate, public and higher education sectors came together on 28th November at The Emirates Stadium for this year’s Technology Day, TD12.
The atmosphere was vibrant as visitors browsed dozens of manufacturer hosted stands – allowing them to see the best in interactive, collaborative, display, signage, audio, video communications, AV housing and furniture, 3D technology, automation, and all the electronics in-between.
They were also able to find out about AV hire, training, guidance and managed services, with project managers at hand to give one-to-one advice. As always, it gave users a rare opportunity to speak directly to the manufacturers of the products and attend the seminars designed especially for the day.
“Collaboration” was the hot topic of the day, with visitors keen to explore the way the workplace is changing and the furniture and technology available to support those changes. Highlights included stunning videowalls and large screen displays and the Reflex EasyMeeting solution.
We would like to congratulate those who won a tour of the stadium and met Charlie George, and have pleasure in announcing the winners of the prize draw:-
A signed football shirt – won by Genevieve Glover from Maudsley Learning
2 home game football tickets – won by James Brett from Skanska
Professional wireless headphones – won by Raj Singh from Radisson Blu
Rally racing day at Silverstone – won by Martin James from Young & Rubical Group

Barco ClickShare makes connecting to the meeting rooms or classrooms video system a matter of clicking a button. One click and your presentation is on-screen. One click and your meeting is underway. Up to four people at once can click and share their laptop content on-screen. The result is enhanced meeting efficiency and better decision-making. Because you no longer need worry about connecting your laptop to the meeting room display, you feel confident and in control.
A standard ClickShare set up includes four USB powered ClickShare ‘buttons’, a storage basket for when they are not in use and a base unit. The base unit has a fixed connection to the meeting room’s presentation system, and takes care of all the processing.
Users who want to show their presentation on the large meeting room or classroom screen, simply connect a Button to their PC or MAC via the USB port. They start the application by clicking on the ClickShare Button and immediately their desktop or laptop is wirelessly transferred to the main screen. What’s more, ClickShare does not interfere with your laptop’s resolution, and automatically displays the screen content in the most optimal way.

When Her Majesty The Queen officially opened Somerset House East Wing (SHEW), it marked the culimination of 18 months of restoration. Somerset House East Wing is now home to the College’s School of Law and new cultural hub, the Inigo Rooms.
Reflex was responsible for the specifying, planning and fitting all of the technology for the project, installed across 22 rooms and a total of 4 floors.
The brief included developing several of the rooms to a very high standard of luxury, with the intention of hiring them out to prestigious third parties.
Technologies implemented included digital signage throughout, control systems, video conferencing, full audio solutions with noise masking, induction loops and wireless mics, and a variety of display devices including projectors and LCD flat screens. Reflex also installed all the furniture and room booking systems, handled the switching and distribution, and installed touchpanel control for all the systems.

Oluchi Uduku, the Senior Project Manager for SHEW commented “Having worked with Reflex for over 18 months on SHEW, their careful attention to our requirements and willingness to work with us has been a pleasant experience.”
