Reflex were called upon to assist a world leading learning company with the installation of AV in their new Oxford office. This was following previous projects carried out with the client based upon developing new room designs and technologies for their head office, the new room designs were then applied to the new Oxford-based office in late 2020.
The installation of AV facilities involved numerous spaces: one boardroom, one divisible room, five small meeting rooms, three medium meeting rooms, six booths, one mobile space, and two collaboration spaces. It was important to get these initial designs.

As a result of this initial testing, it was clear from the start what types of rooms and products needed to be used in the new office. The remaining challenge was adapting the agreed solutions and optimising them for each space.
16-person Boardroom
In the boardroom, acting as the main display device, dual 75” Samsung displays provide suitable image sizes. One display shows source content of the room occupants, while the other shows remote participants. The displays are mounted using swivel wall brackets so that devices can be placed behind the display to keep the area tidy and allows for easy access for maintenance and service purposes.
A visual feed of the room can be shown to remote participants using a Logitech PTZ camera. Control of the PTZ camera is available via the Logitech Tap On Riser Mount, located in the centre of the table.
Audio is presented to the room via Logitech Rally Speakers, one beneath each display, and captured via Logitech Rally Table Mic Pods, evenly distributed across the length of the table ensuring that voice audio can be picked up from all seating positions.
Divisible room
The divisible meeting room can either be used as one large conference room, or two 11-person meeting rooms separated by a folding partition. Each meeting room has dual 65” Samsung displays, in one room the displays are wall mounted and in the other situated on a CBS Trolley. The placement of a mobile display provides flexibility on positioning depending on how the space is to be utilised. The displays for single room use were chosen to ensure that the displays would still be visible when the space is used as one large space. As with the boardroom, a Logitech PTZ Camera is located in each room below the displays.
A Sennheiser TeamConnect ceiling microphone is fitted within the first room to capture occupants’ voices. In the second room, three Logitech Rally Table Microphones were ceiling mounted, and evenly distributed across the length of the room to ensure full coverage when the rooms are being utilised independently. An Extron ceiling mounted ECM S10 partition sensors triggers the system to automatically change the audio settings from single room use to dual room use to allow the Sennheiser microphone to capture voice within the larger created space.
Audio is presented to the room via Biamp Desono ceiling speakers, which are evenly distributed throughout the space. Two speakers in the second room are activated automatically when the partition is open (via the Extron ECM S10 partition sensor).
Within each space a Logitech Tap & Riser Mount, acts as the main conference control as is mounted within a riser mount on a Turning Leaf rack cabinet, this allows the flexibility for furniture movement/layout within the spaces.
Meeting Rooms
The main display in each meeting room is a Samsung display (varies in size dependent on the room size), a Logitech MeetUp Camera below the display captures the occupants and audio is enhanced by a Logitech MeetUp extension microphone mounted centrally within the meeting room table. The Logitech Meetup internal speaker system distributes audio to the room occupants. A Logitech Tap & Riser Mount, acts as the main conference control as is mounted within a riser mount within the table.
Booths
Booths are used for more informal and impromptu meetings. Each booth has a 27” client-supplied TFT display and a HDMI cable for users to quickly connect their laptops to the display.
Collaboration Spaces
Each collaboration space has a 50” Microsoft Surface Hub display and Microsoft Surface Hub camera, mounted on a Steelcase trolley. These multi-use spaces can be used for a wide variety of sessions, including interactive sessions, townhall meetings, and get together venues.
