‘Clean and Green’ projector – a World first from Casio

If you’ve ever had concerns about the effect on the environment of the technologies involved in projectors, you’ll be interested in Casio’s new offering. Created within its ’clean and green’ concept, Casio has released the world’s first mercury-free high-brightness data projectors as part of its GREEN SLIM range.

To date, high-pressure data projector lamps capable of producing 2000 or more ANSI lumens have contained environmentally harmful mercury. Laser and LED semiconductor light sources do offer promising mercury-free solutions, but they’ve only been applicable for small, low-lumen projectors.

In an industry first, Casio’s new projector is a mercury-free hybrid light source capable of generating high brightness by combining a laser, a phosphor and an LED.

Use of the laser and LED hybrid light source makes Casio’s GREEN SLIM Projectors the world’s first that are powerful enough (2000-2500 ANSI lumens) for projection in a brightly lit room without using a high-pressure mercury lamp. The technology also gives a light source life of around 20,000 hours, which is up to ten times longer than most traditional lamps. A 5 year/10,000 hour warranty is available for educational establishments.

The projector is practical, being compact and lightweight with a lens that is suitable for small meeting rooms as well as large boardrooms.

Reflex can offer interested organisations a demonstration of this new projector.

Reflex wins European Award

Reflex are delighted to have been given another award, this time by visualiser manufacturer WolfVision.

The 2009 European Success Award was presented to Yag Depala, Head of Public Sector at ISE in February.

Accepting the award, Yag said "Reflex has seen an increase in project work and this, combined with demand from such markets as Healthcare, has resulted in an increased demand for high end visualisers."

Reflex and Dealerward join forces to provide integrated solution for its customers

Reflex has recently teamed up with joinery company and office fit out specialist, Dealerward, in a partnership that has sprung from the realisation of the huge synergy between the two companies.

Reflex MD Roland Dreesden, believes that customers have come to expect the integration of audio visual equipment into furniture as a given in lecture theatres, meeting rooms, dealer floors and reception areas. "Aesthetics as well as functionality is an important consideration for many clients. But often, the two areas are treated separately in the project planning. The benefit our partnership with Dealerward brings is that both elements are considered at the architectural stage."

It’s great timing for Reflex, as they are winning more contracts for larger projects that warrant bespoke furniture. One such client that both Dealerward and Reflex worked on was the Arup Fitzrovia project. Arup, the global firm of designers, engineers, planners and business consultants, moved into new offices in Fitzrovia, London. Within the complex, ten meeting rooms had 52" LCD screens and SMARTBoards recessed into the walls, with magnetic Whiteboards in five flexible meeting spaces.

According to Andrew Platt, MD at Dealerward "We have, for some time, been looking for an AV integrator to partner with, but wanted one that would reflect the same values that are core to our business; a firm that would provide a professional and personal commitment to the end user. We are now excited that in Reflex we have found such shared goals.

It means we can provide a service that can save both time and cost and also ensures a coordinated, 'one stop shop' approach for the client. It’s a service that will remove the pain of specifying, whilst making drawing a smooth process."

The partnership was officially launched at the Furniture Integrated with Technology and Audio Visual event (FIT-AV 2010) in February.

Managed Services division goes from strength to strength

Reflex are delighted to welcome Shabena Manna as Business Development Manager for our Managed Services division.

Having enjoyed over 10 years in the Service Contract arena of the audio visual industry, Shabena feels coming to work in Reflex’s Managed Services is like second nature. She says "It’s really refreshing to work in an environment that has such a positive attitude and focus on Managed Services, not to mention exceptional performance in this area"

Shabena takes a very customer centric approach, putting clients' interests first and exceeding their expectations by delivering a high quality, honest and transparent service at all times.

Andy Brymer, Reflex Head of Managed Services says "We know from our years of experience in the audio visual industry that when an organisation makes a significant investment on audio visual and videoconferencing facilities that is just the start of the process.

Delivering a first-class solution in the first place is crucial, but making sure those facilities are maintained in optimum condition is an equally important part of our role.

We have invested significantly in this area over recent years, and have now decided to invest in a Business Development Manager to help promote this range of services. Shabena can work directly with clients to help tailor a support package to meet their exact needs and requirements.

Whether you need a 2-hour response on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis, or whether you need the peace of mind of knowing that all parts and labour are covered by a fixed price contract or you just need your equipment regularly checked and a loan unit available, Shabena would love to help develop the precise solution for your needs."
