New audio product ensures everyone receives a clear message

To communicate effectively, it’s not enough to convey your message well; you must also ensure your audience receives it clearly.  The latest audio product from Beyerdynamic does just that in the boardroom or conference room.

The ‘Revoluto’ microphone range pick up sound in a wide, flat arc.  This means the quality of the sound remains consistent, even if the speaker moves away from the microphone.

An unobtrusive alternative to lectern mounted microphones,  Revoluto never gets in the way or blocks eye contact with the audience, and eliminates the problem of lapel microphone batteries failing just as a key point is being made.

And the presenter is no longer tethered to the lectern, but has the freedom to move around naturally as they talk, confident that their message will not be lost. In meetings or at interactive presentations, Revoluto picks up every delegate’s voice, whether they are standing or sitting, without picking up distracting background noise.

Revoluto microphones are entirely flexible. They can be wall or ceiling mounted in video conferencing suites, into boardroom furniture or simply moved from site to site as needed.

Awards and more awards

Forgive us for blowing our own trumpets, but we’ve had two pieces of good news recently. Firstly, we are celebrating winning the “Best Education Project” Award for our work with Imperial College at Crestron’s recent annual Integration Awards.

The project that won the award was our installation across 38 lecture theatres at the South Kensington Campus of Imperial College. At the heart of the solution, was the lectern mounted touch screen displays used to drive a Crestron room control system. The control system is designed to operate all of the source and display equipment and to integrate with the existing lighting control, electric blinds and screens. Although this project was in Higher Education, Crestron’s products are equally at home in a corporate environment.

We have also heard that we had been selected as a finalist for a prestigious AV Award from AV Magazine.  The annual awards are independently judged, ensuring that winning is a real achievement.  This year saw a record number of entries and we find out if we have won on 9th October.

Research underpins our new strategy for the Healthcare sector

In the light of recent announcements on funding cuts within the NHS, and the setting of new Healthcare efficiency objectives, we are working with the sector to help achieve operational efficiencies through the strategic use of audio visual equipment.

One initiative from us is The Healthcare Alliance Group.  The Alliance Group comprises of a number of key manufacturers of audio visual equipment, with the aim of offering an integrated solution that understands and addresses the very individual needs of the Healthcare sector, from surgeries and hospitals through to training universities and postgraduate centres.

The group has run user workshops and it is clear there is a need to educate the sector about certain relevant technologies, including digital signage for communication and wayfinding, video conferencing and video streaming for Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) support and distance learning, and extremely high definition displays to show images from Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) as well as interactive technologies.

We have already installed a number of videoconferencing and digital signage solutions in this sector.  Work includes university hospitals and NHS Foundation Trusts, where the technology has been used to communicate important information, and display site room management information.

We are also developing a specific Healthcare website which is in development stage at the moment and due to be launched before the end of the year.
