2012 Olympics – technology can be your saviour

2012 Olympics – technology can be your saviourAlong with the excitement, we know organisations are concerned about the impact the Olympics will have on their ability to carry on operating normally during the Games.

At Reflex, we’ve been talking to customers about this for a few months now in preparation for putting actions into place to help those affected.

The views of those that are actively planning how to manage disruption can be distilled down to the following advice:

  • Actively support home working
  • Ensure systems are in place to allow remote access to data
  • consider distance learning to help people having travel issues – recorded lectures for download, online training etc
  • Plan any technology installations now so that equipment can be delivered to site in good time
  • Have early discussions with purchasing/finance to see if funding can be pulled forward to complete installations early
  • Test and review existing systems such as video conferencing to ensure they are robust enough to cope with increased demand

Anyone with concerns should contact their audio visual integrator now and ask for specific advice from a video communications expert, who should be able to provide guidance on using technology to its best advantage.

At Reflex we are planning enhanced technical support to support our customers, with an on-line chat function, video conferencing facility and a customer hotline.

Take part – find out if you are in an affected postcode and take our short questionnaire here.
