Reflex Goes Green
Reflex, based in Reading, has worked hard over the last year to adopt environmentally friendly practices which has lead to the standard being awarded. The ISO14001 Environmental Management Standard is an internationally accepted specification for managing the environmental impact of a companies products, activities and services. In order to gain the standard, Reflex was required to plan environmental objectives and measurable targets, and then implement these. Despite already priding itself on its environmental policy, Reflex implemented a number of new activities, such as the responsible recycling of electrical equipment, energy saving wherever possible and employees According to Claire Taylor, quality and environmental manager at Reflex; "With the impact our actions are having on the environment becoming an increasingly important issue across the globe, Reflex decided that this was an aspect of the business that needed to be reviewed. We are thrilled to have been awarded ISO14001 and it has had a positive impact on the company as a whole. Our aim is to further reduce our energy usage by 5% in the next year, making us highly energy efficient. |
